Sticks, cones and dhoop: what's the difference
Sticks burn longest and are the easiest format to control, snap one in half for a shorter session. Cones burn faster and more intensely, better suited to scenting a room quickly. Dhoop is a denser, often resin-based paste or roll, generally slower-burning and more concentrated in scent than either sticks or cones. Backflow incense is a specific cone or stick designed to work with a backflow holder, producing a downward-flowing smoke effect, and needs a holder built for that purpose.
Whichever format you choose, burn incense on a heatproof surface with reasonable ventilation, and check compatibility with your holder before buying backflow varieties specifically.
